Pam Bustin
Head Coach
Pam Bustin is entering her 7th season as head coach of the Duke University blue devils. Bustin came to Duke in 2011 and brought with her impressive experiences as both a coach and a player. Prior to arriving at Duke, Bustin was the head coach at the University of Louisville (1998-2010) and Hofstra University (1997). Throughout her coaching career, she also served as an assistant coach at Michigan State University and Temple University. As a player, Pam Bustin was a four year letter winner at the University of Massachusetts. There she served as the team captain, was selected the team MVP, first team all American, and was nominated for the prestigious Honda-Broderick Award. She later was inducted into the University of Massachusetts hall of fame in 2012. Following her time as a minutewoman, Bustin continued her field hockey career with the USA Field Hockey Team. She was a member of the 1996 Olympic team and was selected to USA field hockey’s Hall of Fame Class of 2014. While at Duke, she has guided the Blue Devils to 5 NCAA tournaments, 2 Final Four appearances, 1 National Championship game, and 1 ACC regular season championship. Bustin has overseen 13 All-American selections and guides an impressive squad of student athletes who excel on the field and in the classroom. |
Wesley Drew
Assistant Coach
Wesley Drew joined the Blue Devils in the fall of 2016. Drew has been a member of coaching staffs at Rutgers University and the College of William & Mary. As a player, she was four time letter winner at the College of William & Mary, 2 time team captain, and selected to the second team All-South Region team. The Virginia Beach, VA native also has playing experience in Europe where she was a member of the Victoria Hockey Club in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Drew was a member of USA field hockey’s 2012-2013 National Indoor Team. Ralph Boersma
Assistant Coach
Ralph Boersma joined the field hockey program in March of 2017. Boersma boast coaching experience with accomplished teams in the Netherlands. Under his guidance, players have made their way onto successful u17 and u19 Dutch national teams. Prior to coaching, Boersma was a member of HC Hoeksche Waard and HV Victoria in Holland. |
